Belaying is the term to describe the technique used to manage the rope of a climber. Belayer can catch the climber’s fall, give tension on the rope through tricky parts, and lower a climber to the ground. The 4 most common types of Belays are: Dynamic, Static, Smart and Continuous. This course is for those with ‘I’ve Got Your Back’ attitude. It is a massive responsibility, as you have your partners safety in your hands.
This course teaches climbers who are new to the sport: safety practices, proper equipment set-up, climbing knot(s), commands verbal and visual, belaying technique/RMS (rope management system), clipping, hazard understanding, fall forces as well as fall arrest using dynamic belay technique. For those who are use to climbing this course help leys the foundation of becoming a Lead Climber and Lead Belayer.
